Sigma
Ceramics
Muppet Collectibles
Introduction
The
first Sigma pieces were released in 1978. These collectibles included
papier-mâché Christmas ornaments and fourteen ceramic pieces, including
the Miss Piggy teapot, the Gonzo sugar bowl, the Kermit creamer, Statler
& Waldorf bookends, Kermit & Fozzie bookends, mugs, picture frames,
and canisters.
The
line continued through the late seventies and early eighties, exactly
at the pinnacle of Miss Piggy's widespread fame as her line of fantasy
calendars and magazine covers
like "People" and "Life" were hitting the stands.
Many of these ceramic pieces capture Miss Piggy's charm and charisma in
a captivating manner.
Sigma
Muppet Collectibles are some of the most sought-after pieces in the world
of Muppet merchandise not only because of their rarity, but there attention
to detail in terms of accurately depicting a character's personality in
a whimsical way. Each piece is individually hand-painted.
Because most
of the Sigma pieces didn't have dates on them, the following collectibles
are organized according to subject. The company Sigma is no longer in business.
